Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Monday through Friday, with weekends every 7 to 8th weekend. Hours are for first shift and vary on rotation from 7am-330pm to 11am to 7:30pm.
Pay Range $21.45 - $32.20
Job Summary: Assists pharmacists in the preparation of prescriptions, waiting on customers, operation of cash register, inventory monitoring, third party processing, inventory work and clerical assistance. Provides technical support for pharmacists and clinicians to ensure safe and effective transitions in care at discharge to support medication reconciliation and discharge pharmacy services. Delivers medications to patient rooms upon discharge. Assists in financial assistance through test claims and initiating prior authorizations. Should be able to work quickly and accurately in a very active environment and make good decisions independently when necessary.

How You'll Impact Patient Care:
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Helps pharmacists prepare and process medication orders to make sure patients and departments get the right medications on time and are charged correctly.
Works well with others and organizes daily tasks for maximum efficiency.
Helps keep medicine stock in good condition so that quality drugs and supplies are always available.
Offers pharmacy services in patient care areas.
Takes part in team efforts to improve quality and supports the Pharmacy Department's commitment to Total Quality principles.
Keeps knowledge and skills up to date and helps educate others.
Sets personal goals to support quality improvement and departmental objectives.
Follows hospital standards to create a positive work environment through good communication, relationships, and teamwork.
Provides care tailored to different age groups as per Age Specific Care Guidelines.
What You Will Need
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Nice To Have (Not Required)
Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technology course preferred.
One-year previous pharmacy experience preferred.
PTCB technician certification (CPhT) preferred.
North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration required within 30 days of employment.
PTCB/NHA technician certification (CPhT) within 180 days of employment or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited Pharmacy School.
