What You Will Do
Communicate with faculty, staff, students, publisher representatives, used book wholesalers, and The Cougar Store staff to coordinate course material availability.
Ensure correct titles, quantities, and editions of course materials are ordered on time and in proper quantities for rental each semester.
Handle requests for book information, research prices, editions, and ISBN numbers.
Determine order quantities and identify books to be deleted from inventory, sold off, or written off.
Reorder books as needed to accommodate increased enrollments.
Assist in training and supervising one Retail Associate.
Hire, train, schedule, and supervise student staff.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
One (1) year (12 months) of experience in a retail environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; Two (2) years of experience in a college or university bookstore, library or related retail activity. Supervisory experience
Knowledge of principles of retail management and buying procedures; knowledge of computer databases, inventory control systems and point of sale systems; skilled use of Microsoft Office, email and web research; excellent customer service skills; excellent organization skills, quantitative skills, accuracy and attention to detail; ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
Illinois Residency Requirement: Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.
Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Driver's License or state of Illinois ID Card. Failure to produce the required documentation within 180 calendar days is grounds for immediate separation.
